ATTICA THE HIGH-END SHOPPING DESTINATION

attica is a pioneer in fashion and beauty retail shopping, blending a rich history in elite beauty and fashion with a vast variety of high-end products and an elevated digital shopping experience. Greece’s most iconic department store joined forces with MEDIACUBE in order to launch a new, online campaign that would promote its beauty offers while strengthening the brand’s awareness and consideration.

THE CHALLENGE

attica aimed to optimize ad exposure and strengthen its overall brand presence by consolidating its media strategy within Google’s Display & Video360. This approach used Display and Video ads, remarketing, and precise targeting of beauty, fashion, and luxury shoppers.

attica sought to promote beauty offers while strengthening its brand presence. In order to achieve that, the brand had to overcome the following challenges:

Fragmented Audience Reach & Ad Fatigue

attica faced the hurdle of “over-saturation”—the risk of showing the same ads to the same users across different platforms. Without a unified system, the brand struggled to identify how many unique individuals were actually seeing the beauty offers versus the number of times a single user was being bombarded, leading to potential ad fatigue and wasted spend.

The “Luxury” Visibility Paradox in a Saturated Market

The beauty and fashion digital landscape in Greece is hyper-competitive, especially during seasonal offer periods. attica’s challenge was to maintain its “premium” brand identity and “high-end” feel while competing for attention against aggressive mass-market retailers who flood the same digital auctions.

Inefficient Media Silos

Prior to this strategy, managing YouTube and Display ads separately created “blind spots” in the budget. The team needed to break down these silos to ensure that a user who had already viewed a video ad wasn’t unnecessarily served multiple display banners, allowing the budget to be redirected toward reaching new, potential customers.

Optimizing Cost-Efficiency Without Sacrificing Quality

The goal was not just to get cheaper views, but better ones. attica needed to find a way to significantly lower the Cost Per Mile (CPM) and Cost Per View (CPV) while ensuring their ads only appeared on premium, brand-safe inventory that aligned with the elite reputation of Greece’s most iconic department store.

THE SOLUTION

To maximize reach and avoid overexposure, we used Display & Video 360 to unify media buying across multiple display and YouTube tactics. This smart, automated strategy enabled centralized frequency capping, unified planning, automated bidding, and consistent measurement. Using brand safety tools, precise geo and demographic targeting, and both skippable and standard YouTube in-stream ads, attica ensured efficient, targeted ad delivery.

MEDIACUBE successfully streamlined media buying and ensured optimal campaign implementation.

Consolidated Frequency Management

Implemented a global frequency cap across all YouTube and Display tactics to prevent over-saturation and redirect budget toward untapped audiences.

Unified Media Planning

Leveraged the DV360 Planner to forecast reach and frequency across diverse inventory sources before the campaign launch.

Cross-Device Audience Synchronization

Utilized Google’s identity graph to ensure a consistent brand story was told, whether the user was on a mobile device, tablet, or desktop.

Algorithmic Bidding Optimization

Deployed “Maximize Conversions” and “Custom Bidding” scripts to prioritize high-value impressions within the beauty and luxury segments.

Holistic Measurement Framework

Established a single source of truth for reporting, allowing for real-time adjustments to CPM and CPV benchmarks.

Dynamic Inventory Filtering

Applied multi-layered brand safety and viewability thresholds to ensure every impression appeared in a premium, contextually relevant environment.

ASSETS & IMPLEMENTATIONS DEVELOPED

  • High-Impact Video Creative: Developed a suite of 15-second and 3-second “Bumper” ads optimized for mobile-first viewing to drive rapid brand recall.

  • Display Prospecting Banners: Rich media banners featuring attica’s elite beauty portfolio, designed to capture high-intent luxury shoppers.

  • Audience Intent Segments: Implementation of “In-Market” and “Affinity” segments specifically curated for high-end fashion and beauty enthusiasts in Greece.

  • Advanced Geo-Fencing: Precise demographic and geographic targeting centered around Attica’s physical department store hubs to drive omnichannel interest.

  • Remarketing Lists for Search Ads (RLSA) Integration: Connecting display interactions with search intent to move users seamlessly through the marketing funnel.

  • Automated Creative Optimization: Used data-driven creatives that adjusted based on the user’s browsing behavior, ensuring the most relevant beauty offer was displayed

THE RESULTS

In the mere 7 days it lasted, the campaign resulted in a significant increase in unique reach and achieved a major efficiency boost, validating that frequency management, when done effectively, is a valuable tool for client attraction.
